Tuesday Tip: Go to the Library

When it comes to finding cheap entertainment, you just can’t beat the library. It’s a great way to have fun while if you’re working on debt management. Books, music, movies… the library has it all, and it’s free! Aside from the materials, many libraries also offer free events for children and educational workshops for adults. So there are even more reasons to go.

Our credit counseling advice is to check out your library before buying anything.

Our credit counseling advice is to check out your library before buying anything.

Here in Boston, the public library system allows you to browse and reserve books and DVDs, and even offers some digital downloads like albums and ebooks from their website. If your library has what you’re looking for, you don’t have to buy anything – which is great if you’re trying to pay off credit card debt.

They might not have all the latest titles available, but you can request that they order them. You can also request something from another branch.  In the meantime, you can read or watch some of the classics that you may have overlooked in the past.

Need a new book?  Need a movie?  Need something to entertain the kids? Head to the library for free options.

*Note: the library is free provided you return the items by their due date.  Otherwise you will have to pay a late fee.

If you’re struggling to pay off debt, ACCC can help. Schedule a free credit counseling session with us today.
