Save Money on Razors

Razors have become one of those common household items that everyone is trying to spend less on. When you’re paying off debt, it helps to find any way to save money. New products and businesses have emerged for this purpose alone. First, you have a lot of options when it comes to razors themselves. Plus you can find gadgets to help sharpen your disposable blades, or services that send you razors in the mail. Everyone has their own opinion on what is the best way to get a good shave, and how to spend less on razors. You can read all the reviews you want, but you won’t know what works for you until you try them for yourself. Here are some popular ways to save money on razors.

Ways to Save Money on Razors

Let’s break down some popular shaving options and what they cost. Some prices may vary by brand, seller, and location. Pick what works for your budget.

  • Gillette Mach 3 (most popular razor today). The handle with one cartridge costs around $7 – $10 depending on the model. Refills come in packs of various counts, typically from 4 to 12. And prices for those packs range from $13 – $40.
  • Disposable Razors. You can still use these more than once. The only difference is you throw away the whole handle when done. These are available in various brands and quantities. A pack of 8 three-blade disposable razors from Gillette costs around $12. A 12 pack of two-blade razors from Schick costs around $6.
  • Razors by Mail. Subscription services like Dollar Shave Club and Harry’s will send you a reusable handle, then a pack of cartridge refills every month for a fee of $3 – $19 a month depending on your choice of razor, frequency of use, and additional products.
  • Safety Razor. This old-fashioned method is seeing a resurgence. A handle costs anywhere from $10 – $80. So this can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like. The double edged replacement razors are very inexpensive. A pack of 100 can be bought for less than $10. That’s a lot of shaves.

Saving money on razors can be tricky. Everyone has different needs and sensitivity. So you just need to find what works best for you. As stated above, you won’t know what works until you try. Why not look into one of the less expensive options to see if you can shave some money off your budget? See what I did there?
