What information do we collect?

The phone number you provide may be used to contact you by phone, including on a mobile device using automated messaging.  ACCC’s Short Messaging Service (SMS) program sends automated messages using automated technology to subscribers who have opted in to receive information from ACCC.  These messages may include reminders, alerts, tips, and other information related to financial management and credit counseling.  ACCC’s policy is to refrain from initiating any communication with you unless you have expressly solicited us to call or text.

What Information do we Collect from Other Sources/Third-Parties?

ACCC will obtain information from third party sources with a client’s consent. This requires a client to integrate or connect their ACCC account with third-party service providers to be able to obtain the most accurate financial information. This can include information from credit bureaus, banks, and other financial institutions. The information obtained from these third-parties varies based upon what is available. Examples of financial information include: account balances, credit accounts, and transaction histories.

ACCC allows clients to use Plaid Technologies/Yodlee to gather data from financial institutions. By integrating, the client acknowledges that the information will be processed in accordance with the Plaid Technologies/Yodlee Privacy Policy and grant ACCC the same rights, power, and authority as specified therein.

Webinars

ACCC hosts monthly live financial literacy webinars, which are recorded and require registration. We collect name, email, and state information that may be used to promote future webinars or information about our products and services. All webinars may be used for marketing & promotional purposes. Attendees participating will participate without video (image) or voice recording and are encouraged to participate via text chat only.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. We maintain your non-public personal information in accordance with our record retention guidelines.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers’ hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits.

Interest-Based Advertising Program

We participate in Interest-Based Advertising (IBA) programs, which means that we and third-party vendors use cookies or other tracking technologies to serve you advertisements based on your interests and browsing behavior. Opt-out

Our clients are given the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our email newsletter has an opt-out mechanism so clients who do not want to be contacted via email will be taken off of our lists. To opt-out, send an email to edu@consumercredit.com.

SMS texting

ACCC utilizes Short Message Service (SMS texting) campaigns to effectively communicate with our clients in a timely manner and a lot of our clients find this method of communication not only convenient but also helpful. ACCC’s SMS (texting) will be used for transactional purposes, non-marketing & marketing relating directly to a client’s account and discussion, for example:

  • Request for client feedback regarding ACCC’s services
  • Request for signature on required forms
  • Payment change notification
  • Missed payment notification
  • Follow-up messages

  • SMS Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan

California’s Shine The Light Law

Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents with whom we have an established business relationship have the right to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
